Physical Therapist

This is technical work involving the treatment of injuries, disease or disabilities by physical means such as massage, exercise, heat application, light, water or electricity. The work is performed under medical direction and written orders of a licensed physician. The work may entail instruction and technical supervision of public health nurses who administer physical therapy to selected patients. The incumbent does related work as required.

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications at time of examination. All experience must be paid experience unless otherwise indicated. Completion of an approved program of instruction in Physical Therapy.

The only subject of examination will be an evaluation of your training and experience. You must complete all sections of the exam application. Failure to complete all sections of the application or leaving blanks in certain areas of the application may result in insufficient information to give you credit for education and experience. You are responsible for submitting all pertinent training and experience in sufficient detail so that your background may be evaluated against the duties of the position.

Residency has been waived for this examination. Appointing authorities may give preference for appointment to residents of Clinton, Essex, Warren or Washington Counties who have been so for at least thirty (30) days immediately preceding the date of appointment. The eligible list established as a result of this examination will be used to fill present and future vacancies that may occur in Clinton County departments, towns, villages, school districts and the City of Plattsburgh.
