Principal Account Clerk (Examination Date 12/19/2026)

This is highly important account keeping work involving responsibility for planning and overseeing complex account keeping activities and independently performing the most important phases of such work. Employees in this position may perform double entry bookkeeping. Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with outlined policies and procedures but it calls for the frequent exercise of independent judgment. Difficult technical or policy problems are referred to a supervisor for decision or review of judgment where recommendations are initiated. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel. A Principal Account Clerk does related work as assigned. Typical Qualifications PROMOTION QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be permanently employed in the department where the vacancy exists AND must be serving and have served in a full-time, permanent, competitive class position of Senior Account Clerk for three (3) years immediately preceding the date of the written examination.
