Mechanical Equipment Specialist

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in work involving the installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, and operation of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, machinery, diesel generators, and auxiliary equipment including welding, piping, and insulation. LICENSE: Appointees may be required to possess a valid Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification of the appropriate level, commensurate with the type of equipment serviced, issued under the authority of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. Appointees may be required to possess a valid Boiler Operator's License (Black Seal) of the appropriate grade and type as issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The responsibility for ensuring that employees possess the appropriate grade and type of license, rests with the Appointing Authority. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. The responsibility for ensuring that employees possess the required motor vehicle license, commensurate with the class and type of vehicles they operate, rests with the Appointing Authority.
