Minimum qualifications
NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience. Nine (9) years of professional supervisory accounting experience in work involving the examination and analysis of accounting and other financial records of an organization and preparing reports concerning its financial status, including or supplemented by twenty-one (21) semester hour credits in professional accounting subjects. OR Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twenty-one (21) semester-hour credits in professional accounting subjects; and five (5) years of the above-mentioned professional supervisory experience. OR Possession of a current, valid certificate as a Registered Municipal Accountant or Certified Public Accountant issued by the NJ Board of Certified Public Accountants or as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer issued by the NJ Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services may be substituted for the above education requirement; and five (5) years of the above-mentioned professional supervisory experience. LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position. The responsibility for ensuring that employees possess the required motor vehicle license, commensurate with the class and type of vehicles they operate, rests with the Appointing Authority.
