Staff Psychiatrist (Community Mental Health)

Provides professional medical and psychiatric services for clients of the community mental health agency. Work is performed under the general direction of the Supervising Psychiatrist. The incumbent is permitted much latitude to exercise independent professional judgment. Supervision and training may be provided to resident psychiatrists, psychologists and other subordinate staff members. Does related work as required.

Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State; and, possession of a certificate indicating satisfactory completion of a Residency in Psychiatry.
The following must be submitted with your application:
A copy of original license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; and a copy of certificate indicating satisfactory completion of a Residency in Psychiatry.

The only subject of examination will be an evaluation of your training and experience. You are, therefore, asked to include in your application a summary of all-pertinent training and experience in sufficient detail so that your background may be evaluated against the duties of the position. In your summary of training, include all college course work, formal in-service training, and seminars you have attended. You must specify either the number of credits received or the number of contact hours and dates of attendance. Also include a copy of your professional license or documentation indicating eligibility for licensure. Specify the date that your license was first issued.

2 In your summary of experience, you must specify the dates of your employment, the number of hours worked per week, your title, and the main duties for each. Be specific; vagueness and ambiguity will not be resolved in your favor. Candidates who submit incomplete applications or documentation may be disqualified. CANDIDATES WHO RECEIVE A GRADE OF 70 OR HIGHER WILL APPEAR ON THE APPROPRIATE ELIGIBLE LIST. THEIR NAME WILL BE INTE RFILED ACCORDING TO GRADE AND WILL REMAIN ON THE ELIGIBLE
LIST FOR ONE (1) YEAR.
