Assistant Division Administrator of Social Services

An employee in this class assists in directing, organizing and monitoring one or more programs for which the division is responsible. This includes formulation and implementation of procedures, preparation of reports and interpretation of laws and regulations. Work is performed under general supervision of the Division Administrator. Does related work as required.

To be eligible, a candidate must now be serving and have served on a continuous basis with permanent or contingent permanent competitive status as a(n) Social Services Examiner V, Bureau Director of Social Services, Medical Services Bureau Director, Child Support Specialist IV, or Investigator IV for at least two (2) years or as a(n) Social Services Examiner IV, Assistant Bureau Director of Social Services or Assistant Medical Services Bureau Director for at least four (4) years immediately preceding the written examination. Provisional time immediately preceding a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.

The written test will cover
knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in such areas as:
1. Preparing written material; 2. Understanding and interpreting written material; 3. Administrative supervision; 4. Administration.
