Correction Officer - Corporal

This is a position involving responsibility for the supervision of assigned personnel, the proper guarding of inmates and maintaining order and security in the facility. Corporals will also assist Correction Officer – Sergeants in administrative duties, mentoring and other related duties as assigned. Supervision is exercised over Correction Officers through inspections and the assignment of duties in accordance with general instructions received from officers of higher rank. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidates must have 36 months of permanent, continuous, competitive class, civil service status as a Correction Officer at the Oswego County Correctional Facility immediately preceding the date of the exam.
